happy halloween!

i was really keeping my fingers crossed that i wouldnt actually wear this costume this year, but that id be in the hospital having a baby. since parker's birthday is christmas eve, i thought it would be awesome to have another holiday baby.... but with 3 hours left in the day, i dont think she is going to make her appearance in time for a halloween birthday. in fact at this point, im pretty sure she is going to be in there forever.
*sigh* im so over being pregnant, and anxious for her to come!

parker had a fun halloween this year. he woke up to see grandma had made it to our house! she brought him a fun pumpkin basket full of all kinds of halloween goodies. he was SO EXCITED all morning playing with his presents. thanks grandma!

i love dressing up together as a family. jared is always a good sport. this year we went as a family of skeletons. jared and i made our shirts, and we bought parkers at a thrift store. i thought they turned out pretty cute.
yes im HUGE.

this is a better view of our shirts, dont mind parkers grumpy face. he was so ready to go trick or treating!

funny story.....
on our way out the door to our ward trunk or treat, which we were already late for, jared went to lock our door, and his key got stuck in the lock. it wouldnt budge. we couldnt turn it or pull it out. so we were locked out of our house with the key in the lock. i headed to the trunk or treat with parker while jared tried to figure it out. turns out WD-40 worked great. and he was able to join us at the trunk or treat.

love this little dude of mine. though im so anxious to have this baby, im also so torn about it. it has been me and parker all day every day for the last 3 years. he's my buddy. my helper. my side kick. my partner in crime. im very sad our days with just the two of us are coming to a close.

after we got home from trunk or treat we had to check out our loot and show it to grandma. she had a class she had to go to tonight during our party.

now with my mom here in town, im not stressed about going into labor in the middle of the night and trying to find someone to come over to take care of parker. in fact im MORE than ready to get this party started. so sweet baby sis, you are welcome to come out any day now.

last hurrah!

this weekend my sisters came over from rexburg to visit us. we had a great time with them, and are sad the weekend went so fast. friday carissa and her husband kyle had a funeral to go to, so we got to spend the whole day playing with stacey. parker LOVED playing with stacey. we got pizza and went swimming that night at kyle and carissa's hotel.

Saturday the weather was BEAUTIFUL so we decided to take them to the pumpkin patch we went to a few weeks ago. being the saturday before halloween, it was definitely much busier, and parker was a bit cranky this time around, but overall we had a fun afternoon.

on the hayride out to the pumpkins! parker cut his finger on a piece of straw on the hayride. those things can be sharp!

our attempt at a family picture. like i said, parker was a but grumpy this trip.

and still grumpy..... this is real life people.

carissa is 25 weeks pregnant. she is due in february with another boy. and my huge 38.5 week pregnant belly. with stacey's pumpkin belly :)

another attempt at a family picture. thanks shiftlet in the background for photo bombing us!

saturday night we had stacey kyle carissa and kyler all stay with us in our tiny 2 bedroom apartment. it was a tight fit but we are so glad they came over to see us. we stayed up wayyy too late playing games, laughing and shoving our faces full of candy.

the weekend went by too fast and before we knew it, it was time for them to pack up and head back to rexburg. i feel like this weekend was kind of our last big hurrah before baby sis comes. seriously 10 days left. im so over the pregnancy thing but so not ready to do the baby thing again. but ready or not, she's coming! and soon!
(i feel like ive been saying that for a while now.......)

the pumpkin patch

one night last week our next door neighbor brought over some pumpkins and asked if we wanted them. um heck yes. free pumpkins? dont mind if i do. when parker woke up the next morning and saw them, you would have thought he had died and gone to heaven. he was SO excited. they kept him entertained all day long.
there is one other BIG pumpkin she brought and he likes to tell me "tiny pumpkin, tiny pumpkin, BIIIIG pumpkin!"

i thought parker was at a fun age last year for all the holidays, but this year is even better. he is loving everything related to halloween so i knew he would LOVE the pumpkin patch. we went on saturday and the weather was BEAUTIFUL!

we got to go on a hayride out to the pumkpin patch. trying to get parker to look and smile at the camera while we were there was a joke. there was way too much to see and do a picture was the last thing he was concerned about. but i still got some cute ones. here's a photo dump of our day.

there was this big box of corn for kids to play in. parker had a great time in it.

the petting zoo was a HUGE hit. especially when he found this black baby chicken thing. he wouldnt put it down.

this tractor was a also a huge hit.... with BOTH boys.

jared was just as anxious as parker was for his turn to drive it.

and parker was not amused when he had to share and let daddy have a turn.

and finally we made our way through the hay maze

we had a really fun afternoon at the pumpkin patch.

its crazy that we only have three more saturdays to do things with just the three of us.
baby sis is coming soon!

tired of it yet?

potty training.... tired of listening to me talk about it yet? cause i sure as heck am tired of talking about it. (but for the sake of a record........)

we started potty training Aug. 12. seven and a half weeks ago. we did that 3 day potty training boot camp. staying at home for three days straight running to the potty every 30 minutes. YUCK! those were dark, long days. but parker caught on FAST. ya we had our accidents those three days, but after that, we we were accident free for WEEKS, actually a whole month of no potty accidents.

until the last week and a half. we have had an accident EVERYDAY for the last week and a half. WHAAAT?!?!?! everyone told me this might happen AFTER the baby is born, but after a month of nothing, why all of a sudden is he pooping and peeing his pants like its nobody's business? your guess is as a good as mine, but ive about had it. im ready to throw him back into diapers. but i also know, i do not want to redo this whole process again in a few months.

oh potty training...... okay, enough im done.

minus the potty training thing, parker is doing great. its mind blowing to me that he will be three soon. THREE! although he isnt talking as well as some three year olds i know, he is talking a lot more than he was. still a lot of it is stuff only i can interpret, but thats okay. he doesnt know any pronouns yet, so he still talks in third person. i love it. its too cute.

he has a favorite color, green. he knows and can sing all the words to i am a child of god, i love to see the temple, ABC's, and twinkle twinkle little star. he sings ALL.DAY.LONG. sometimes its these songs, other times its just mumble jumble. he is total and complete boy. loving everything from cars, trucks, trains, wheels, motorcycles, and fire fighters.

currently he is LOVING all things halloween. we've been talking A LOT about  halloween for the last few weeks. pumpkins, skeletons, ghosts, bats, and witches. and he loves to see all the halloween things at the stores. of course we are dressing up together again this year..... (jared is a good sport) nothing super fancy, but it will still be cute.... i hope. its a cute idea in my head anyways.

okay, enough chit chat, here are some pictures from the last month.

he insisted on giving cookie monster a "bath" one day.

this little red hat he got the night he was born at the hospital. he found it the other day when i was pulling some baby things out and wears it all the time. both inside the house and out and about in public.

he really loves to brush his teeth. until its mom's turn to do it. i need to get him into the dentist soon.....

little stink has learned how to pull the chair over to the pantry to get snacks.

he loves to play with his cars on the dishwasher.

coloring is a favorite activity. especially when mom draws pumpkins and skeletons for him.

this magnetic pumpkin from grandma is a huge hit.

we went to our first birthday party! my cousin here in boise has twin boys that just turned three. it was a cute pirate themed party. it was cute.

my sweet tooth this last month has been a bit ridiculous. we've been making cookies like they are going out of style. parker loves to help.

oh this little dude of mine. he drives me nuts, but at the end of the day as we are going to bed, i cant help but tell jared about all the good, fun things that happened. though sometimes the days can be long and monotonous, i really do love spending my days with him. life through a three year olds eyes is never dull.
