catching up

the few weeks leading up to our big move
were full of lots of family and fun.

it started off with a surprise birthday party for
jared's dad. he turned the big 60.

the following week we had a family reunion
in island park.

the first day we all met up at lava hot springs.
parker enjoyed hanging out with grandma allred,
and jared and i enjoyed playing on the slides
diving boards, and platforms.

wednesday jared spent the day riding out on the sand dunes
with all the other guys.
and i enjoyed a pedicure with the girls.

thursday was a fun day out on the lake
up in island park.
surprisingly the water really wasnt that cold.
parker really enjoyed playing in the sand,
and throwing rocks into the water of course.

we took parker out on the jet ski.
he looked too cute in his little life jacket!

we also took him out on the boat.
i think he enjoyed eating his sucker more
than the boat ride though.

and we must have really tired him out!

i very much enjoyed tubing all day....
but man i sure was sore the next day!

we stayed the night at a cabin
and headed to yellowstone on friday.

overall, id say it was a very fun few weeks!

especially with this little dude.
sure do love him.

home sweet home

well here we are.
moscow, idaho.
home sweet home?
eh. we shall see.

i do however love our new apartment.
we live on the north end of town.
right as you come into moscow.
near a lot of houses and subdivisions.
it seems to be the newer side of town.
i like that we are far enough from campus
and the wild partying college kids.

this is the biggest place we have lived in.
3 bedrooms. 2 bath rooms.
i love that parker has his own room.
and jared has an office,
where all his school stuff can explode in.

we have a nice patio and back yard,
but havent played much back there.
its not fenced in and parker doesnt like
to just sit back there and play.

and we have covered parking.
that will be nice in the winter.
if the winters here are anything like winters in rexburg.

we decided to ditch the student married ward
and be real grown ups in a family ward.
it seems like a nice enough ward.
lots of people came up to us and introduced themselves.
and parker even stayed in nursery all by himself,
without crying. miracles people.

speaking of the little dude,
he's only slept through the night 3 times
since we've been here.
i think a big part has to due with it being a new place,
but he is also getting his eye teeth in.
his last ones! YAY!
he sure had a fun time playing with grandma allred last week
while she was here. he misses her.
mom just isnt as fun to play with.

ive been a little down in the dumps though.
i miss rexburg.
i miss my friends.
i miss playgroup.
i miss having my sister around the corner.
i miss having jared's parents just down the road.
i know we werent gonna be in rexburg forever though.
and moscow really is a nice place.
we've done a lot of exploring and have found some fun parks to play at.
it's just different.

BUT.....
i especially miss the fact that carissa
had her baby 1 week after we left :(
but a big congratulations to her and kyle!
we cant wait to come meet him!

OH! and to end this pitty party on a happier note,
a SUPER BIG congratulations to
david and heather on their soon to be baby!
we cant wait to meet him/her next year!
(my vote is it's a girl!)

babies babies babies!
they seem to be everywhere these days!

movin' on

well.... the time has come.
the boxes are packed up.
the truck is loaded.
the apartment is sparkling clean.

big, huge shout out to my mom for all her help cleaning,
to carissa and kyle for their awesome babysitting skills.
and to jared's parents for driving up to moscow with us
so we can use their truck and trailer.

thank-you rexburg.
you sure have been good to us.
really good to us.
and you will be greatly missed.

we will always have a special place in our hearts
for this small town that started our journey to forever together.

i know buddy, i dont want to leave either......
