so long moscow!

first things first....
i have to give a shout out to my sweet cheeks who graduated with a MASTER'S degree in accounting last week. i couldnt be more proud. and i couldnt be more excited to close this school chapter of our lives. im sure years down the road ill look back and miss it, but for now, im so happy that we have both graduated from college. awesome stuff i tell ya.

fancy master's robes....

jared and i are both so blessed to have families that support us. both our parents came up to moscow for graduation AND to help us pack up and move to boise! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

graduation was long. 3 hours long. but we survived thanks to some new toys, the ipad and treats. after graduation, we got to enjoy a complimentary lunch in the building where jared completed all his master degree courses.

in my short life, i have moved PLENTY of times. each move was hard for different reasons, but my move from rexburg idaho, my home for 6 years (the longest place i had ever lived) to moscow idaho last august was by far, the hardest move i have ever made in my life. that first semester there was awful. i was sad and depressed and threw on big pity paty for myself from august to december. i was one crabby, grumpy wife and mama. it was awful.

after christmas break, i told jared, im tired of being so crabby and grumpy. im changing my attitude, and i was bound and deteremined to put an end to my crabby self i had turned into. our 2nd semester there was so much better. a complete 180 degree turn. i got to know a few girls, who ended up becoming some of my best friends, and parker got to have plenty of play dates which we both loved. we miss our friends we made there, but they all moved away to jobs too, so there was no point sticking around!

we are now moved in and unpacked in our new apartment. we are on the 2nd floor, and trying hard to teach parker we cant just jump and run and jump and run. we have been spending lots of time outside our apartment exploring the city, and wearing parker out. jared starts his big boy job on monday, and though parker and i will miss having him home, i couldnt be more excited (and nervous) for him!

surprise!

back in november, we were in colorado for thanksgiving, and my youngest sister, stacey, a senior in highschool, was getting ready to try out for the school musical. she had her heart set on the lead role. i told my mom, if she got the role, we would be coming back in april to see her shine.

fast forward a few weeks, stacey called to tell us she did indeed get cast as the lead! luckily we had some frequent flyer miles to use. unluckily, parker is over two, so we did end up having to buy him a ticket. but sending 3 people on a airplane to colorado for $140? ill take it! we booked our tickets, without stacey's knowledge in january, and then had to keep our secret for FOUR MONTHS!

the week finally came, and i was so SO excited to surprise her! she was totally convinced we were not going to come see her. so friday night she called to tell me how it went, all the while thinking i was in idaho, when really, i was sitting at the kitchen table at my parents house. we hung up the phone as she pulled up to the house, and when she walked inside and saw us sitting, there.... it was PRICELESS! she was so surprised.

parker was a GREAT traveler. we had to drive almost two hours to the spokane airport, where we then took a shuttle bus from the parking lot to the airport. then we had a 2 hour flight to denver colorado, once we landed we got to ride the train at the denver airport and then another 2 hour drive from denver to colorado springs in rush hour traffic. PHEW! it was a long day. but parker did awesome.

im so glad we got to go see her. jared and i went to see her last performance on saturday night, and WOW! she was awesome. we were both blown away by her talent.

since jared still had school and work, we booked his flight back home for monday evening. well just so happens, that colorado has some wacky weather, and monday a BLIZZARD came in. we had to drive him to the airport on some very snowy roads, and then his flight ended up being delayed almost 3 hours! he didnt take off until midnight. by the time he got back to moscow, it was 3:30am!

i put parker down for bed before we left for the airport, and what do you know? im stuck driving 25 mph in a blizzard, and he wakes up HYSTERICAL only wanting mama. my dad managed to calm him down, and when we got home around 11:30pm i found them both asleep on the floor.

parker loved the dog zoey, way more than zoey loved him. poor thing was just tortured all week by a 2 year old!

it was a fun trip. im so glad we got to go. now we are looking forward to jared's graduation this weekend, along with our big move. its going to be a crazy fast weekend. but we are so anxious to get settled into our new adventure!
