October Picture Overload

it's totally crazy that october is already gone, because it actually went SO. SLOW. with parker asking me EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. if it was halloween yet, i was about to pull my eyeballs out!!! next year we are definitely making a cute countdown so he doesnt ask me 5 MILLION times. but what can i say.... he was so excited to FINALLY dress up as captain hook, that all the asking was totally worth it when he woke up on Halloween morning and said with a HUGE smile on his face, "MOM! it's HALLOWEEN!!! YA-HOOO!!!!"

but before halloween could come, we had to make a trip to the pumpkin patch. and lucky parker, he got to go TWICE this year. We went one morning during the week with his preschool class, and it was so fun. and so nice because we were pretty much the only ones there, minus one or two other small preschool classes.
on our way to our field trip! it should be documented that i left brooklynn with a babysitter.... shocking i know...!!!!!!

then we went again with aunt diana, uncle chuck and our cousins marcus and charlee who drove over from Idaho Falls and stayed the weekend in boise.

brooklynn is clearly not a fan of selfies......
come one now kids... cant you PLEASE just both look and smile at the same time?!? is that too hard to ask?!?!?

oh he had SO much fun running around with these two.
is that a real/nice smile i see from parker?!? its a miracle!

after the pumpkin patch, we headed out for some dinner and swimming at the hotel, which parker and brooklynn both loved. made me miss our apartment pool.....

we also carved and painted pumpkins at some point during the month...

Finally halloween made it's debut! We had a pretty low key day though. spent it at the library, and having a fun halloween lunch.

parker decided back in the summer that he wanted to be captain hook, so i took that idea and ran with it! we all dressed up as characters from peter pan, and i do have to say, this might be my favorite family costume we have done yet! :)

oh be still my heart! can you believe i found that skirt and wings at the DI for less than $4?!?! Holler!

wait, whaaat?!?! is this for real?!? are we really all staring and smiling at the camera!?

hands down, cutest trick or treater out there!

i hope my kiddos always want to dress up matching their mom and dad! :)

and that my friends, was october..... now bring on Brooklynn's first birthday, thanksgiving, parker's 4th birthday (whaaat?!?!) and CHRISTMAS!!!!! (which i will for sure be making a countdown too!)

family update!

it's been a while since ive done an update on our family. as always, time just keep rolling by faster and faster!

jared just changed jobs at the end of august. he wasnt necessarily looking for a new job (i mean come on, he just started his first job just about a year ago!) but a buddy from school emailed him about a CPA position here in boise and asked if he knew of anyone that might be interested... jared said he was and applied and next thing we know he got the job! it was a little bittersweet leaving his first job because he really did like it and loved his co workers. so far when i ask him how his new job is he says, "good." ha, (a man of so many words and emotions.)

Parker just started a little preschool coop and he LOVES it. there are 5 little kiddos in our ward that are doing it, and we just rotate houses each week. we meet tuesdays/thursdays from 9-11. it was my turn to teach last week and holy hannah, im glad its only every 5 weeks! it was fun but im looking forward to my break. i think it will be very good for both parker and me to have a few hours apart. he is so ready for something like this too. poor kid i think is just getting bored being at home all day. now that school has started we see buses everywhere and he asks me everyday if he can ride the bus to school.

brooklynn is a mover and a shaker. she started crawling when we were in colorado for stacey's mission farewell and she hasnt stopped moving since. she is so happy and content to just wonder off and play by herself. it is so different from the way parker was (and still is!) she loves to eat, loves playing in the bath and recently learned crawling around on the trampoline is just about the best thing ever. she still sleeps great.. goes down around 7:30 and will sleep until 7:30 about 97% of the time. she just cut her two bottom teeth so im sure more will start popping through soon. i still consider her to be the best baby ever.

im still just trying to keep everyone fed and alive. and that pretty much takes up all my time ha!

ive gotten really bad at taking pictures lately and im totally bummed about it, i need to start taking more, and updating more! i love going back and reading my old posts.

A MISSIONARY!

My youngest sister stacey just left on her 18 month mission yesterday. before she left, we were able to travel down to colorado for her farewell. and boy am i so glad we went! even though she has only been gone a few days we already miss her! no i didnt see her everyday but i did talk to her at least everyday in some form or another. i keep sending her snap chats, and keep wanting to pick up the phone and call her or text her. she was so excited and so ready to leave and we are so excited to hear all about it!

our first night there we had a fire and roasted some marshmallows. which parker loved doing. good thing we did it this night cause the other nights were rainy!

we also went to the zoo another day.

and we were able to see some old friends while we were there! jared and i know quite a few people that live in colorado. it was fun to catch up with everyone.
me and cassie with our baby girls. cassie was a GREAT friend when we lived in moscow and our boys arthur and parker were good buddies.
parker was less than thrilled to have his picture taken.

My friend janae from high school lives just north of denver and saw online that my sister's mission open house was while we were there so she drove down and surprised us all. it was so fun to see her. i also got to see my old college room mate melanie and meet her little girl but i never got a picture with her!

sunday stacey spoke in church and did a great job. she is going to make one awesome missionary. i am so so so glad we were able to go!

the allred cousins. my goodness its so hard to get them to all look! they are all going to be so big when stacey gets home!

good luck stacey! see ya in 18 months!

our trip was so short and before we knew it we were headed back to idaho. i do love idaho and i cant complain to be here but man i so wish we lived closer to family!

IF trip

we traveled over to Idaho Falls the first weekend in august for charlee's baptism. we had a great time with the Rucks' family.

grandma and grandpa rucks have the best driveway to ride bikes on. its nice and big with plenty of space to ride.

of course we took a ride on the four wheeler down the canal bank.

these boys are all about a year apart from each other.

 swimming on saturday afternoon.

it was a great trip that went too fast! good thing they dont live too far from us. im sure we will be making another trip over soon. we sure love southeast idaho!
