SUMMER TIME!!!!!!!!

we had a 4-day weekend this weekend and it was so much fun! summer has FINALLY decided to grace us with its presence and we took full advantage of it! last summer we bought these 2 person rubber rafts to float some rivers, so saturday we took them out for the first float of the summer! the sun was so warm but the river water was FREEZING cold!
The boys pumping up our rafts. this was the only picture i got cause i didnt want to bring our camera on the river.

Sunday after church we went down to Lava Hot Springs and met up with our good friends Trae and Candice and Robby and Zenna from our ward and went CAMPING! Jared and i were in charge of dinner for the night and we were going to do tin foil dinners, but changed our minds at the last minute to taco salad instead, and good thing cause it POURED rain and made making a fire quite difficult! We did finally manage to get it started after we borrowed some dry wood from some nice people.

jared trying to chop some wood... with an extremely dull ax...

Trae caught a fish with a homemade fishing pole

I taught everyone how to make banana boats... no one had ever heard of them before! i think they were a hit.... i enjoyed mine! :)

After we ate our banana boats the rain was starting to come back so we headed to the tent and played some games and went to sleep. monday morning we all woke up pretty early. Trae and candice were in charge of breakfast and they made some yummy pancakes bacon eggs and sausages! we packed up camp and headed to the hot springs, which were VERY hot.

around 11 we went and found a park to have lunch which robby and zenna were in charge of. we ate hot dogs and chips. then it was time to head over to the pool, which is my favorite spot in idaho... they have diving boards, platforms, and slides.... of course the sun went away when we got there and it rained a lot on us, but i still had a blast! i love to try to remember how to dive, but usually i have someone there egging me on to do things, and no one was there doing that this time.

even though the sun went away during the day jared and i still fried like lobsters... we even put sun screen on, and a lot of it too... our poor white skin :( it was such a fun weekend outside! i love this time of year! camping and swimming, it doesnt get much better than that! im bummed these were the only pictures i got the whole trip... i always forget to take pictures!

Did we make banana boats at girls camp? I know I've made them too, but I can't remember when/where it was.
