since parker turned 1, we have only allowed him
to have his binky at bedtime and naps.
a few weeks ago, i noticed parker had almost
chewed the top of his binky off.
i threw that one away and found another one in my diaper bag.
but a few days later, noticed he has almost chewed the top off this one as well.
and i wasnt about to go out and buy new ones.
so, we had him throw it away, told him it was all gone
and braced ourselves for what was to come.
up until that point, he had not been sleeping through the night,
since we moved here.
so we new we were in for longgggg night.
of course there were a lot of tears, and he kept
pointing to his mouth, clearly indicating that something was missing.
and boy was he stinkin' mad when i laid him down for the night.
after standing at his door for 45 minutes, he finally conked out.
and slept till morning.
it was awesome!
taking the binky away went way smoother than i thought!
until this last week.
he doesnt ever ask for it anymore, but getting him to go to sleep
at nap time or bedtime is a complete nightmare.
he has decided he no longer wants to nap.
its awesome.... let me tell ya.
my favorite part of the day has got to be around 4:00pm.
that's when we get to witness meltdown after meltdown after meltdown
until bedtime. THEN he so graciously sings us the song of his people.
at the top of his lungs.
for the whole city of moscow to hear.
until we finally go stand by his door till he falls asleep.
i cant believe the people above us havent come down and told us
to control our child.
i really hope it's "just a phase"
because im not ready to give up naps just yet.
and i KNOW he still needs them.
minus our getting to sleep problems,
we do have a lot of fun with him during the morning
when he is happy.
he is so into cars and trucks....
calling them all "gucks"
especially when they crash into each other
and when we arent playing with our
"gucks" he still very much enjoys reading
and recently discovered puzzles.
the moscow fair was in town this weekend,
and on friday night we met up with some new friends
and enjoyed the fair atmosphere.
it was a fun night.
parker was mesmerized by all the lights
and rides spinning and twirly.
we managed to make it through the whole fair
without buying any fair food.
pretty impressive huh?
